Cycling vacation in Gol and Valdres

Arrival in Gol

Start with a short climb up from the lake. Then easy cycling along Storfjorden Lake. At Langestølen summer farm there is a shop and acafé. After passing Nøsen you continue north and have a climb up to Grønsennhøgda. There you get rewarded with a fantastic view of Jotunheimen National Park. After Grønsennøgda, you enter a path where you may have to walk the bike for a while. In the end, you reach a gravelled road with better conditions. Easy cycling along the Midtre Syndin Lake. 1 km uphill at the end of today's trip.
During the day, you find many nice places to rest or take a swim, so enjoy the day. 
Instead of biking on a path, it is possible to continue a local road, this will add approx. 10 km to today's lap.

Nice and easy day trip with a few hills. It is possible to choose alternative routes to make the trip longer. Part of today's trip goes on a bad dirt road, which can be muddy after rain. It is possible to make a longer trip to avoid the dirt road.

Today's stage starts with a slight uphill for about 2 kilometres before the road flattens. At Brattåse, the highest point of today's stage, you can look back and enjoy the breathtaking views of the peaks in Jotunheimen National Park. The road continues through relatively flat landscapes. You pass streams and small mountain lakes and eventually, you get a fantastic view of the Hemsedal mountains. Nice downhill towards Tisleifjorden, where you bike across the dam at the end of the lake, before cycling the last kilometre towards the hotel.
